Día del Profesor: Por Qué se Celebra Hoy, 17 de Septiembre

Esta celebración se estableció en homenaje a José Manuel Estrada, una de las figuras más influyentes en la historia de la educación del país.

Cada 17 de septiembre se conmemora en Argentina el Día del Profesor, una fecha dedicada a reconocer la labor y el compromiso de los docentes de nivel secundario y universitario.

La elección del día se debe a que fue la fecha del fallecimiento de José Manuel Estrada en 1894. Estrada, un destacado intelectual del siglo XIX, se desempeñó como profesor, rector y conferencista, dejando una profunda marca en el sistema educativo argentino.

Aunque se trata de una jornada de reconocimiento, el Día del Profesor no es un feriado nacional ni implica la suspensión obligatoria de clases. Las instituciones educativas suelen conmemorar la fecha con actos y mensajes de aprecio a sus docentes.
