Gustavo Quinteros es el Nuevo Director Técnico de Independiente

El entrenador argentino Gustavo Quinteros, de 60 años, llegó a un acuerdo de palabra para convertirse en el nuevo director técnico de Independiente. Tras una reunión virtual positiva con la Comisión Directiva, el exentrenador de Vélez y Gremio de Brasil firmará contrato con el "Rojo" hasta diciembre de 2026.

Quinteros, apodado "El Profesor", se encontraba de vacaciones en Miami y tenía previsto su regreso para el 23 de septiembre, pero el interés del club de Avellaneda cambió sus planes. Todavía resta confirmar la fecha exacta de su regreso al país para asumir el cargo.

Por ahora, el equipo será dirigido por el interino Carlos Matheu de cara al clásico del próximo domingo contra San Lorenzo, por la novena fecha del Torneo Clausura. El "Rojo" busca un triunfo que le permita salir del último puesto en la Zona B y pelear por un lugar en las copas internacionales del próximo año.

En su última etapa en el fútbol argentino, Quinteros dirigió a Vélez, donde se consagró campeón de la Liga Profesional en 2024 y llegó a la final de la Copa Argentina. Su historial con el "Fortín" incluye 28 victorias, 13 empates y 9 derrotas.
